Two-Hour Family Paddle Eco Tour
Led by a naturalist, families explore the Lowcountry’s ecosystem by kayak. Winding through Morgan Creek and arriving at a small hammock island with a scenic swimming hole, guests learn the main components of the estuary and its friendly inhabitants.
Quenby Creek Blackwater Paddle
This 3 ½-hour tour twists along the banks of Quenby Plantation, including a visit to the historic chapel seen in the film, “The Patriot.” Paddlers journey through abandoned rice fields and catch glimpses of nearby bald eagles, hawks and shorebirds.
Fly Fishing Basics
Fly fishing students learn the art of casting on land by a Lowcountry local expert. The course concludes with a friendly competition for the longest and most accurate cast.
Palmetto Carriage Tour
During this one-hour horse drawn carriage tour, riders are treated to a history lesson they will never forget. Along the 30 blocks of Charleston, guests explore the city’s historic houses, gardens, mansions, churches and parks as well as the people, flora and architecture that tell the story of the “holy city.”
Chef’s Showcase at the Farmer’s Market
This two-hour tour gives food enthusiasts a peak into Charleston’s
local culinary scene. The group visits the farmer’s market to learn about indigenous produce and purchase ingredients from Charleston purveyors. Following the farmers market, the group participates in a chef-lead cooking demonstration that teaches participants how to prepare a Lowcountry meal using local ingredients purchased at the market.
Palm Frond Origami
A part of the South Carolina State Palmetto Tree, palm fronds are a beloved symbol of the Lowcountry culture. Participants learn the art of palm frond weaving and create a Lowcountry souvenir to remember their stay at Wild Dunes Resort.
Bike Tour Crabbing-BYOB
A favored southern pastime, guests explore local crabbing spots by bike, while learning tips and tricks for casting the perfect net. As crabbers bait, secure and reel in the swimming pinchers, a naturalist gives a hands on Lowcountry crab species 101 lesson. Crabbers are encouraged to catch and release.
Capers Island Wildlife Exploration
During this excursion, guests cruise aboard a shaded vessel through the winding tidal creeks to find diverse wildlife living in the Lowcountry salt marsh environment. Along the way, guests identify dolphins, egrets, herons, crabs, oyster beds and shrimp in their natural environments.
