FITNESS vs. FUN...OR BOTH: Wild Dunes Resort Makes Calorie Burning Fun Not Frustrating

Stand-Up Paddle boarding (SUP) offered at Wild Dunes Resort takes the gym to the water for a full-body workout.

CHARLESTON, S.C., JUNE 11, 2013 –Lately, exercise is more than “hitting the gym” with a movement toward functional forms of burning calories, from barre to pilates to trampoline fitness classes, these activities camouflage calorie burning with fun. Wild Dunes Resort, the ultimate fitness playground, located on a barrier island near Charleston, SC, offers active outdoor outings that effortlessly blend fitness with the island’s natural landscape.  Occupying 1,600 acres between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, coupled with numerous amenities, Wild Dunes Resort includes 36 holes of golf, 17 tennis courts, watersports, nature excursions, recreational activities and miles of serene bike trails, making calorie burning fun, not frustrating.

“Burning calories is dependent on the weight of the participant and the vigor of the workout. Activities offered at Wild Dunes Resort such as SUP paddle boarding and cardio tennis classes offer innovative ways for guests to earn the burn while engaging in fun outings,” remarks Jeff Minton, Director of Golf & Sports at Wild Dunes Resort.

Guests can choose from various fun fat-burning excursions, conveniently packaged in Wild Dunes Resort’s summer vacation activity planner. Please see below for calorie counts of fun activities available at Wild Dunes Resort versus everyday gym activities.
