CHARLESTON, S.C., May 20, 2013 – In the past decade, multigenerational travel has been on the rise as a great option for families to reconnect and create memories. Today, “skip generational” travel has become popular for grandparents who wish to leave the parents at home for some one-on-one time with their grandchildren. Therefore, Wild Dunes Resort, located on a lush barrier island minutes from downtown Charleston, is launching its Great Grands Package.

Available from May 29 - September 2, 2013, the two-night Great Grands Package starts at $309 per night and includes:

  • Nightly accommodations in a two-bedroom condominium for up to four guests
  • Capers Island Exploration for two adults and two children: Guests cruise aboard a shaded vessel to Caper’s Island and explore wildlife found in the Lowcountry’s saltmarsh. During the excursion, sightings include dolphins, egrets, herons, crabs, oyster beds and more
  • Carriage Tour Downtown for two adults and two children: Grandpa has seen it all and now he can share a history lesson that will catch the attention of the grandchildren. ¬†Families explore the sites, gardens, churches, mansions and streets of Charleston’s historic district by horse drawn carriage
  • Sunday Night Family Fire Pit at Palm Cove, ideal for grandkids and grandparents to kick back and dine poolside, followed by a marshmallow roast over an open fire pit

Driving distance to downtown Charleston, Wild Dunes Resort offers the best of both worlds, coupling a beach getaway with the tremendous offerings of historic Charleston.
