Guests will enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails on the intimate, Palmetto-lined Village Plaza. The special event includes a reading and book signing by Monroe, followed by a monarch butterfly release. Tickets are available to the public for $35 and include a hardcover copy of the new novel. Please call (843) 886-2020 or email clubline@wilddunes.com to RSVP.
About the Novel
Set against the backdrop of the phenomenal southerly migration of the monarch butterfly, The Butterfly’s Daughter is a powerful tale about the transformational journey of four women chasing monarchs, myths and love across the United States to Mexico. For Luz Avila, it is the journey of a lifetime as she uncovers the truth about her family--- and herself.Â
About the Author
Mary Alice Monroe is an award-winning, bestselling author of 13 novels. She’s a passionate conservationist who uses storytelling to explore a variety of nature issues, such as the disappearing coastal shrimping industry (Last Light over Carolina), the rivers of North Carolina (Time is a River), the endangered sea turtles (The Beach House, Swimming Lessons), and now the vanishing population of the monarch butterfly.  Â
