The Schooner Pride Charleston Harbor Sail

Tour Charleston Harbor and experience the best in Charleston sailing, sightseeing and attractions on The Schooner Pride, a classic 84’ tall ship. Take in the Holy City the way it was meant to be seen, from the peaceful waters of Charleston Harbor, as you mingle with dolphins, pelicans and gulls on our two hour sailing tours. Relax and sip wine or another cool beverage as we sail from the Aquarium Wharf and continue sailing past the historic Battery, towards Ft. Johnston and Ft. Sumter. Modeled to resemble the old coastal trading schooners, the Schooner Pride has all the charm and character of the great old days of sail. The Pride is USCG certified for up to 49 passengers. Cost is $34 per adult, $26 per child ages 12 and under for the day sail and $43 per adult, $32 per child ages 12 and under for night sail. A 24 hour advanced registration is required. Palmetto Carriage Tours

A horse drawn carriage tour of Charleston is a blend of knowledge, wit, humor, and history. During this one hour tour, you will experience 25–30 blocks of Charleston’s historic downtown district. See beautiful and historic houses, gardens, mansions, churches, and parks and find yourself captivated while learning about buildings, history, architecture, flora and people. Savor the Flavors of Charleston Culinary Tour

JJoin us as we walk, talk and taste our way through Charleston. This 2½ hour tour will immerse you in the history and culture of the Lowcountry. You will discover how our unique cuisine has evolved over the past 300+ years while sampling delicious specialties from local eateries, markets, bakeries, restaurants and culinary landmarks. Typical tastings include: Stone Ground Grits, Charleston Benne Wafers, Locally Made Gourmet Chocolates, Southern Pralines, Sweet Tea, Collard Greens or Lowcountry Barbeque. Tour is offered Monday-Thursday at 9:30 a.m., Friday at 2 p.m. and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. (Farmer’s Market included on Saturdays seasonally.) Cost is $42 per person. The Charleston Stroll - A Walk with History

During the scenic and relaxing 90 minute tour, you will see over 75 landmarks and points of interest! While aboard the Carolina Belle, you’ll get close-up views of the Holy City’s most famous and charming sights, including:

- Fort Sumter (one of Charleston’s most popular landmarks, where the first shots of the Civil War were fired)

- Confederate and Union Army Forts, Moultrie and Johnson - The USS Yorktown (the famous World War II “Fighting Lady”)

- St. Michael’s Episcopal Church (survivor of both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, whose steeple was painted black to avoid being an easy target)

Charleston Ghost and Dungeon Walking Tour

The Haunted Jail Tour

Join us for a behind the scenes tour of The Old City Jail, which housed some of Charleston's most infamous criminals including 19th century pirates, Civil War prisoners and more. The Old City Jail was in operation from 1802 until 1939 and most of the building's original structures remain intact, including the cells and warden's quarters. The Haunted Jail Tour takes you through the cells, hallways and into the places where Charleston's worst criminals lived and died. This is one of the most popular Charleston ghost tours. Tour is 45 minutes in duration and is offered nightly at 7, 8, 9 or 10 p.m. (times subject to change). Cost is $18 per adult, $10 per child ages 7-12 and complimentary for children ages 6 and under. You’ll get an exclusive opportunity to walk inside the gates of one of Charleston’s oldest graveyards after dark. Learn about the history of Charleston’s graveyards and hear the stories of the famous individuals who found their final resting place in the Holy City. The Children's Museum of the Lowcountry

The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry has nine interactive exhibits, including a two-story Medieval Castle, a pirate ship and a dedicated Art Room, allow your children to explore the arts, sciences and humanities through their own hands-on experiences. Weekly classes expose children to the arts, movement and foreign languages. Recommended for ages 3-10. Located in Downtown Charleston approximately 40 minutes from Wild Dunes. Museum hours are Tuesday-Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 - 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 for non-SC residents and $8 for SC residents. Call 843.886.2292.

The South Carolina Aquarium

The Aquarium is devoted to the understanding and conservation of South Carolina's aquatic habitats. Jutting out into the Charleston Harbor for 2,000 feet is a 93,000-square-foot aquarium featuring a two-story Great Ocean Tank Exhibit. Contained within are some 800 animals, including sharks, sea turtles and stingrays. Located in downtown Charleston, the Aquarium is approximately a 30-minute drive from Wild Dunes Resort. General Admission + 4D Theatre Combo $23 for adults, $18 for children (2-11).

Charleston Harbor History and Maritime Mystery

Departing from the Isle of Palms Marina, enjoy a leisurely boat cruise along the Intracoastal Waterway to historic Charleston Harbor. Along the way, your guide will entertain you with historic accounts and facts about everything from Native Americans to the Revolutionary and Civil Wars to past and current land owners. Your time with your Historian/Naturalist will be spent observing dolphins and discovering other wildlife. Recommended for adults and children 8 and older.
