Wedding Wednesday Spotlight: A Wild Dunes Parasailing Proposal in Charleston, SC
From shagging on the Grand Pavilion to moonlit walks on the beach, summer’s a ripe time for romance here at Charleston’s Island Resort. And for Wild Dunes Island Adventures Supervisor, Danielle Gallant, it’s been quite the summer of love. Read on to hear how her boyfriend Brendan Hood, former Assistant Golf Pro at the Links Course, swept her off her feet (literally!)…
Sharing a love of adventure and action, Danielle and Brendan are the type to opt for water sports over sunbathing on their days at the beach. Yet, this past June, the Lowcountry residents’ idea of a typical beach activity turned into a sky-high adventure.
Sure, there’s a natural rush that comes with parasailing—the boat takes off, a parachute opens and you’re suddenly lifted 1000 feet into the air. But for Danielle, that rush took to the extreme when her beau surprised her mid-air with the words, “Will you marry me?” After a joyful “Yes!” the blissful couple enjoyed an unforgettable parasail above Isle of Palms before returning to land. Keeping it near and dear, they later took engagement photographs at their favorite spots around the Resort and on Caper’s Island (see below), and look forward to celebrating their upcoming wedding here at Wild Dunes Resort.
