Tips for First-Time Charleston Visitors
We recently posted a question on Facebook asking: “If you had to offer a first time visitor just one tip about visiting Charleston, what would it be?” Responses were tremendous! Tips were as varied as making sure to watch a sunset, to dining at any of the number of suggested restaurants, to taking a nature tour, to visiting popular locally-owned ice cream shops to sample favorite frosty treats.
Interestingly enough, one activity in particular generated mixed viewpoints: taking carriage rides through the downtown Charleston historic district. Several visitors recommended a carriage stroll as a “can’t miss” attraction, while others suggested skipping it in favor of doing something else. This just goes to show, when you visit the Charleston area you really can’t go wrong, because there is something for just about everyone! With summer quickly approaching, and lots of repeat and first time visitors in the area, we’ll look for future opportunities to engage you in offering suggestions and recommendations.
