Charleston Restaurant Week
Phenomenal Charleston fine dining for $30? You read that correctly. This event, January 12 - 22, allows diners to enjoy the city’s impressive culinary scene without overextending the wallet. A three-course meal will be $30 or $40 at fine dining restaurants (contingent on restaurant and menu) and $20 at casual dining restaurants. More than 50 restaurants are expected to participate.
For a more active event, pick your pace during the Second Annual Charleston Marathon January 13 - 15, offering a full and half marathon, kids marathon, 5K run and 30 & 60 mile bike ride complemented by a Health & Fitness Expo. and Post-Race Festival.
Tea By The Sea Author's Event
Wild Dunes Club members will host its 6th annual Authors Event, Tea by the Sea January 14, featuring a distinguished panel of authors at the Resort’s event venue, The Sweetgrass Pavilion®. The event is open to the public and will feature three highly acclaimed authors including Dorothea Benton Frank, Nathalie Dupree and Taylor Polites.
Lowcountry Oyster Festival
Get ready to do some shucking during the 29th Annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival January 29. With 80,000 pounds of oysters, The Lowcountry Oyster Festival is the world’s largest oyster festival and has been named one of the “top 20 events in the southeast” by Southeastern Tourism Society. Enjoy the legendary “Oyster Shucking” and “Oyster Eating” Contests, live music, wine, a selection of domestic and imported beers, a Children’s Area complete with pony rides and jump castles and a “Food Court” showcasing a variety of local favorite restaurants to satisfy everyone’s taste.
Southeastern Wildlife Exposition
Charleston goes wild during this weekend-long celebration of wildlife and nature, February 17-19. The 28th Annual Southeastern Wildlife Exposition will be held at a variety of venues throughout downtown Charleston. Includes world-class original art, diverse exhibits, interesting presentations and lectures, not to mention Southern hospitality and lots of fun!

2012 BB&T Charleston Food + Wine Festival
To celebrate Charleston’s local color, flavor and widely recognized culinary savoir fare, hospitality industry leaders have come together to host the Charleston Food + Wine Festival, March 1 - 4. The five-day event is for food and wine enthusiasts. Participants will have the opportunity to experience Charleston’s rich cultural heritage through indigenous cuisine, paired with fine wines from vineyards around the world.
