Guest Recommendations for Your Charleston, SC Beach Vacation at Wild Dunes Resort!

Looking for recommendations for your upcoming Charleston vacation?  Where to eat, what to see and all of the “musts” while visiting?  We asked our guests to share their advice and favorites for new Wild Dunes Resort vacationers and here’s what they said!

Elizabeth Betsi Walter Waldron:  “Start every day with an early walk along the beach, before the crowds. Then, the Culinary Tour of Charleston, a visit to Drayton Hall Plantation, buy a sweet grass basket on Rt. 17, Morgan Creek Grill, and for breakfast there is no place better than The Sea Biscuit! Wish I was there.”

Amy Cathcart:  “Jet ski to Capers Island for shelling, did that for first time on honeymoon!”

Linda Wood Robertson:  “We're laid back beach bums, so we go out for a casual dinner after spending the day on the beach. Favorites are Acme Low Country on IOP and Home Team BBQ and Poe's on Sullivans.”

Megan Pickard Kice:  “We LOVE movie night with the kids by the Village Plaza...Favorite places to eat...Morgan Creek and The Boathouse (the blue cheese coleslaw and Gouda Mac & Cheese are AMAZING!!!)”

Lynn Norton:  “The restaurant at the docks in Wild dunes is great! Kayaking! Beach bumming , lunch at the pavilion & a dip in the pool! GOLF people!!!!  For a trip into Charleston- have brunch at Poogan's Porch or Eli's & dinner at SNOB, Fig, Husk or The Grocery.  Take a carriage ride, tour the historic homes & Calhoun Mansion.   Walk the Battery & Battery Park.  Shop on King Street.  Saturday morning flea market at Marion Square. Take the children to the aquarium!!! Cocktails at Husk or 82 Queen!  Lunch at Poe’s Tavern on Sullivan's island after exploring the island's fort! Patriot's Point & out to Ft. Sumter via boat!  No wonder we come here every single summer with the whole family! <3!!!!!!!”

Michelle McCulley Lesack:  “Steel City Pizza delivers to Wild Dunes check out their menu online if you want to just stay in after a long day on the beach, try the peach sweet tea vodka frozen drink at the grand pavilion bar, and reds bar on Shem creek is a great hangout! Red drum on Mount Pleasant has a great brunch!!”

Trae Jones:  “Historic carriage tour of downtown, lunch at Jestine's Kitchen and take a quick trip to Johns Island & check out the Angel Oak. Of course pack a cooler & spend one whole day on the beach doing absolutely nothing but chillaxing!”

Anna Lane Bonham:  “Start the day with a tennis clinic; lunch or dinner at one of the great Shem Creek restaurants on the water; afternoon lounging by the pool, playing tennis for free, or walking on the beach to the pier.”
